About Carlos
Carlos brings a unique blend of experiences and skills to all his work. Originally from Mexico City, Carlos moved to the UK for his higher education studies in Music and Musicology, where he completed a PhD in Music at the University of Cambridge focused on a historical study of Italian opera in the 1860s. From there, Carlos focused on music performance as a conductor for a number of years.
In 2014 Carlos pivoted somewhat by moving to upstate New York as music director at non-profit, education-based global organisation. It was during this time that Carlos started mentoring leaders and supporting non-musical teams to lift their performance. Within this time Carlos had the opportunity to help a research project that took him to India for an 18-month stint.
Carlos moved to Melbourne, Australia with his wife in 2023, where he continues to conduct musicians but principally works as a facilitator of leadership and culture programs for a wide variety of organisations and teams. He is now a father and a fan of Aussie-rules football.
